Asia
Sheep hunting enthusiasts have long considered the mountain ranges of Asia to be home to the best Sheep hunting on the planet. With the diversity of landscapes only being surpassed by the diversity of huntable game species, it’s no wonder that Asia is one of our most popular hunting destinations. Hunting in Asia is generally tough and unpredictable setbacks occur frequently, so be sure to check with us considering the current status of hunting in these countries as well as hunts not mentioned here.
Azerbaijan
Our client success photos from Azerbaijan
Species:
- East-Caucasian / Dagestan Tur
The Republic of Azerbaijan sits at a biological crossroad, where species from northern Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East intermingle with endemics found nowhere else in the world. The country is located in the southeastern Caucasus, which is the home of the pure East-Caucasian Tur. Also known to trophy hunters as the Dagestan Tur. The Dagestan Tur is one of the largest wild “goats” of the world, and they inhabit the Caucasus Mountains of Azerbaijan at altitudes between 5,500 – 9,500′. For many trophy hunters, the country’s name is almost synonymous with the Dagestan Tur.
The hunt for Dagestan Tur is considered to be the ultimate test for the mountain game hunters, as it requires good physical condition and mental toughness. Many describe it as the toughest of all mountain game hunts, as the animal provides a good sport and challenge for its pursuers.
Due to lack of scientific research done on this animal, Dagestan Tur cannot be recognized as a Mountain Goat or a wild Sheep; therefore, the species counts towards both GSCO’s Ovis and Capra World Slams.

Our outfitter has been operating in Kyrgyzstan since the late 80’s and has access to some of the best areas in the country for the various species of Sheep and Ibex. The altitude in Kyrgyzstan isn’t quite as high as what you would see in the Pamir Mountains of Tajikistan, so horses could be used extensively on these hunts. Lodging ranges from spike camps to comfortable cabins, depending on the hunt and area.

For centuries this rich landscape of big game has provided great sport for hunters from the Russian aristocracy all the way to the modern sportsman seeking adventure in one of the most wild and remote lands in the world. Accommodations vary for each hunt as conditions vary wildly. The hunting is as good as it gets but these trips are not for the faint of heart. - Bukharan Ibex (GSCO) / Mid-Asian Ibex (SCI)

- Eurasian Wolf
The Republic of Tajikistan is most famous amongst the international mountain hunting community for the prized Marco Polo Argali that inhabits its Pamir Mountains. Hunters that seek a big Marco Polo know that Tajikistan is the place to go. Years of sound management, high populations with limited quotas, and good genetics create the perfect setting. Since 1992, we have been able to offer hunts in multiple areas throughout the Murgab region of Tajikistan for these beautiful wild sheep. Of course, Tajikistan also offers fantastic opportunities for other Ovis and Capra species, most notably the Bukharan Markhor. If it’s the Bukharan (or “Tajik”) Markhor you seek, ask us about the very successful community-based wildlife management hunt programs we have to offer. Hunts for Mid-Asian Ibex in Tajikistan are what we consider to be the best value for an Asian hunt in the world, although it’s only for the most prepared hunters or those hunters up for the most adventure.
Logistics, weather, and camp accommodations all depend on the time of year and what you’re hunting, as well as physical demand levels. As with most of Central Asian hunting, it’s best to expect logistical challenges.

Turkey
Our client success photos from Turkey
Species:
- Bezoar Ibex
- Hybrid Ibex
- Anatolian Chamois
- Konya Mouflon
- Mid-Eastern Red Deer / Maral
- Eurasian Wild Boar
- Persian Goitered Gazelle
The country of Turkey owes its natural and historical opulence to its unique geographical location – a crossroads at which many different civilizations and species met and inter-fused, forming uniqueness out of diversity. The most important natural asset of Turkey is the gene pool of the numerous animal and plant species, which came into creation through years of evolution as distinct breeds came to, settled on and intermingled here. Borders of Turkey overlap with the Anatolian Peninsula, previously known as Asia Minor, the land of sun and history. It is a region replete with natural wonders and history across millennia. Turkey is a country that protects its natural environment. Many species that have been preserved artificially in other countries are still living in the wild in the full beauty of their natural habitat in many localities of Anatolia.
The mixture of culture, ease of travel, cuisine and phenomenal hunting makes Turkey a worthy addition to the “bucket list”. The amount of game in these prime areas is out of this world, and the local guides are incredible at putting you within range of an old, mature animal. It is the Bezoar Ibex that gives Turkey its popularity, and it’s this subspecies of Ibex that is generally accepted as the most handsome of them all.
The land which for thousands of years served sultans, kings and rulers as hunting grounds still has a lot to offer to those who want to collect the bounty. What is more, you do not have to be royalty to hunt in these grounds anymore, yet you certainly will be welcomed as one.
